This is an indigenous community located in the area of the Ecuadorian Highlands. The current water system was implemented about thirty years ago when the community was smaller. The water system no longer satisfy the needs of the community. The community has grown significantly because of migrants coming to live in the community. The water supply system is undersized and does not reach to every member of the community. Other sources they are using to make up for the system shortages are untreated from open pits and a river that is 3 kilometers away. With the affect of climate change, they are facing worse water supply droughts in the dry months as well.

The objective of the project is to supply potable water to each household and community building by using the most appropriate resources available.
